Q. How do I get a refill for my prescriptions?

When you need a prescription refill, call your pharmacy with the required information, including our fax number, (916) 454-6714 (Sacramento office). If necessary, the pharmacist will contact our office for approval. We must review your records and check with your physician before the refill can be approved. Many local pharmacies are part of the SureScripts network, which means that requests for refills can be transmitted to our office by means of an electronic interface, which will speed up the refill process greatly. Please remember that we close at 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Please check your prescription supplies frequently and allow enough time for both the pharmacy and our office to complete the required steps, which is usually 72 hours. Also, please be aware that California state law mandates that controlled substances, such as strong narcotics, require special prescription forms and cannot be refilled by phone or mail.
